Success Stories Letter from Leslie Levy "I would be greatly honoured if you would permit me to establish an annual prize of R1000.00 plus a trophy on a classical theme to the best student in your Schola Scripta programme.
I have looked through the material you have kindly made available to me and can only say that it is superbly and invitingly presented and should provide the first building blocks of a lifelong interest in and affinity for the classical world. " "Their knowledge obtained from the course made a world of difference to their understanding and application of the English Language…they have acquired the ability and confidence to derive the meanings of unknown words from Latin”
Mrs S Hurlin. Principal Cornerstone College 1997 "
Why Latin? In all our activities, in every walk of life, we depend on words to convey our ideas. Something like half the modern English vocabulary has either been borrowed directly from Latin or come from Latin through French, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese all of which are direct descendants of Latin. Present courses in Medical Terminology and Legal Terminology at the University of Pretoria are based on Latin and Schola Scripta offers an excellent basis for these courses.

FOUNDATION BUILDING BLOCKS FUTURE... "Those children were building, well, not a schoolhouse, exactly, but a whole college – a college education. They were building their future lives. Latin was giving them the foundation blocks with which to do it!" If we build a new schoolhouse don’t tear down the old schoolhouse till the new one is built. Success in life is built on a firm foundation.
The Acedemia Latina has been running the course successfully for the last few years and 2800 correspondents ranging in age from 10 years old to 82 have completed one or more of the four courses.
